Pyramid Saimira releases KUSELAN: A tribute to the spirit of Friendship. The movie hits the screens on 1st August, 2008

Pyramid Saimira is all geared up to release the most awaited movie of the year, KUSELAN, over the Friendship's day weekend. It is said that people come into our lives for reasons, seasons or lifetimes. While some people waltz into our lives for relatively short durations and see us through possible difficult times, we all turn to our friends - those who are meant to be with us for lifetimes - in times of true need. A relationship that has stood strongly and unflinchingly against tests of time, it is friendship that often makes the world a better place for us to live in.

And there can be no finer tribute to this beautiful relationship that exists amongst millions of people across the world, than the release of superstar Rajini Kanth's much-awaited film KUSELAN, Directed by P. Vasu, the movie highlights the importance of friendship in every individual's life. The movie has an impressive cast, including Pasupathy, Nayantara, Meena and Vadivelu, skillfully essaying their respective roles along with the Superstar. The lilting soundtrack of the film has been composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. This film is produced bi-lingually in Tamil & Telugu. The Tamil version is a joint production of M/s Kavithalaya & Seven Arts Films while the Telugu version titled KATAHNAYAKUDU is a joint production of Vyjayanthi Movies / Seven Arts Films.

In the movie, Rajini Kanth plays the role of a superstar while Pasupathy plays the role of his friend, a barber. Meena plays the role of Pasupathy's wife while Nayantara stars opposite Rajini Kanth. Based on friendship and noble values, the movie traces how Rajini Kanth is too busy with his career to spend any time with his friend. The storyline has been developed sensitively and realistically portrays the situations that are likely to arise between any set of friends. Rajini Kanth adds his own magical touch to the role, which is bound to enable all viewers to identify with the characters of the film. The relationship that is portrayed between Rajini Kanth and Pasupathy is also likely to be reminiscent of the friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudhama.

Pyramid Saimira Entertainment Ltd, Singapore (subsidiary of Pyramid Saimira theatre limited) has the copyrights for this film world wide. The movie will be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. Pyramid Saimira will release the film across 900 screens in India, UAE, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Europe, Canada, China and USA.

Speaking about the release of the film, Mr. P. S. Saminathan, Chairman and Managing Director, Pyramid Saimira Group, said, ''Pyramid Saimira distributes / releases around 100 films a year, but every year there will be one or two films which will convert a film release into a great festival. Super start Rajni's films are always about celebration/ joy / participation/ clean family viewing and of course, great fans. Last year we partly distributed / exhibited SIVAJI - super star film produced by AVM and this year we have the world copyrights on all modes for this great film which is likely to be seen by more than 10 million people in next 60 days (we will have more than 500000 seating capacity per show for this film).
