Dutt earns Rs 8 C profit with Kathanayakudu

It is well aware that the Rajanikanth-starrer Kathanayakudu directed by P Vasu and produced by C Aswini Dutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with Nayanthara in the female lead, Jagapati Babu and Meena in other important characters is all set for release soon.
The bilingual film is simultaneously made in Tamil as Kuselan, while the Telugu version was brought out by C Aswini Dutt. The audio of the film was also released into the market recently at Chennai.It is learnt that the producer had reportedly sold the film to Pyramid Saimira and earned Rs 8 crore profit. Both the Tamil and Telugu versions were sold outright for Rs 63 crore and the producers earned handsome profits.
His contemporaries say, only Aswini Dutt could sell a film to a popular distribution company to avoid production risks and make profits. The producers are making efforts to release the film on August 1. GV Prakash, the nephew of AR Rahman scored music for the movie.
