Rajinikanth has the last laugh!

However much Rajinikanth's detractors try to pin him down and make him out to be a traitor to the Tamil cause, nothing effects his box-office status.
In the 'Rajini apology issue', those who raised it, like Nadigar Sangam chief Sarath Kumar, Sathyaraj and T. Rajendran ended up with egg on their face!
Rajini once again emerged clean in the whole sordid episode. There was no real show of dissent against the superstar in the state. Politicians of all hue and colour including the star's 'bete noire' PMK did not raise any issue on the controversial apology.
Veteran director K.Balachandar defended his actions at a public function and supported his theory that he had not apologized!
Noted film makers like Bharathiraaja, Seeman, Ameer and P.Vasu issued statements supporting him and also thanked him for helping distributors recover their costs by releasing Kuselan in Karnataka.
Thundered, Bharathiraaja- "Where were all these people when his effigies were burned in Karnataka during the Hogenakkal issue? Some of these guys are jealous that he is India's highest paid actor."
Meanwhile the superstar is back to what he does best, doing his work. Rajinikanth said that he will be leaving to US by August 10, to start shooting for Shankar's Robot. As far as the star is concerned it was just a storm in a tea cup.
