Friends, This is the first in the series of Kuselan box office flashes. The film has registered a thunderous opening across the globe in all screens. Exact reports are yet to come. Meanwhiel presenting you the scenario here in homeland this evening.
When some of my friends, asked me about the result of the movie at box-office after intial grand opening, i told them to wait for a few days to get clear picture. With the initial crowd of fans, we can't predict about the run. Only we could tell about the content satisfaction. As the subject is a clean family entertainer packed with ladies sentiment i was expecting a late pickup of this movie.
So, i reserved any judgments regarding this.
Guest role... 20 + theatres in Chennai.. And it is Monday....But the movie is HOUSEFUL!!!!!Many theatres in Chennai city on Monday morning reported only an average turnout. Theatre circles were in panic but expecting that the general audience would pour by Wednesday and the movie would gain momentum.
Some of my friends, SMSed me about this and shared their fear and grievance. I assured them that the film would be a late pickup and asked them to be patient.
HOUSEFUL...HOUSEFUL.
By tonight i got the good news finally. Evening shows and night shows in Kamala and Kasi were HOUSEFUL.
A movie that is being shown in 20 + theatres in Chennai becoming HOUSEFUL in 2 theatres in that same belt is not an ordinary thing. It is extra ordinary. Virugai Devikarumari too reported HOUSEFUL shows.
I never celebrate victory before confirming it. So, i called a technician who's working in Kamala and confirmed the same with him.
In his words:
"Anna....sema ladies kootam. Naane rendu naala irundha trendai paarthu bayanthutaen. But innikki fulla ladies kootam vandhu irangiyirukku. Blackla ticket Rs.100/kku pogudhu. Kasiyila ticket illama neriya paeru vandhu galatta panna, kadaiseeyila police varavaendiyadha pochu..."
I asked what's the reason for this sudden rush of ladies....
He continued, "Padamae ladies subjectna. Ippo irukura generationukku padam pidikaadhu....college students ellam padam sariyillannu solraanga...aaan thaaikulam eppavum thalaivar pakkam thaan. Climaxla thalaivar kan kalanguradhu nalla workout aayiduchu..."
I congratulated him and thanked him for the good news.
Tutucorin, Kovilpatti...
The same trend was reported from evening today evening onwards in Tutucorin, Kovilpatti and adjacent places.
A sect of urban audiences (meaning of friendship is different with them) and teenagers and college students may not like the film and they may turn down it.
But thaaikulams and family audiences are lapping up the film. If family audiences particularly thaaikulams start their march towards a film, no doubt it is a superhit.
Some websites may come-up with Box-office articles soon which may disturb you. So am presenting this before them. They will take account only Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But i here accounted Monday, first working day of the week. A movie becoming HOUSEFUL on Monday is not an easy thing. It is very crucial for its run. But it happens only for our thalaivar.

Note: Me too was upset over the trend prevailed on Sunday and i was worrying. But i told my friends, nothing could be judged till family audiences start pouring in. The next day i heard that Superstar went to Tirumala to offer prayers. I was releived much. I know that Krishna would take care of this Kuselan hereafterwards.

Superstar Rajnikanth today offered prayers at the famous hilltop temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. A mammoth crowd thronged him at the temple entrance, but the police personnel controlled the situation. He told the media that he was leaving for the US as part of his forthcoming film with Shankar - Robot. He expressed satisfaction that Kathanayakudu was received well by the Telugu audiences.
