A minuscule review of songs
I had the luck of listening all the songs recently. Guess what, all the three songs meant for Superstar were so nice. Since i had taken oath of secrecy from the source i couldn't reveal more. But this would be more than sufficient.
(Ada...edho scene poduraannu ninaikaadheenga. Nesamavae solraen...)
I am not a music buff and have very poor knowledge on music. So as a common man I am reviewing the songs in my point of view.
Cinema Cinema, Oyam Zarere, Perinba Pechukaraan yaaru yaaru... these three songs belong to our Superstar. And you know Cinema cinema and Perinba Paechukaaran will become instant hit on the day one itself of the audio release. Oyam Zarere by Daler is much hummable song with a unique style. (I am humming this song alone nowadays)
One thing i am sure, you can't resist yourself in humming any of the above songs all the time during your day-to-day life once the audio releases. Surely a master piece by GV Prakash.
And Nayan's solo song is also nice (picturisation of that song won't make you to get out from seat...! Got it?) Probably that song will be just after interval (like Konja Neram) where you won't go out for dhum or break just after intermission. Another the song 'Sollamma' is for melody lovers.
The songs have been packed keeping in mind all sects of audiences of Superstar's movie and music lovers of various scales. Surely it won't disappoint anybody. You will affirm it once the audio releases. Do tell me that time about my prevision of audio without fail. Ok?
Meaningful Lyrics
Superstar's larger than life image and expectation on him have been explored in the songs very well. The lyrics of the above songs have been penned in a way to satisfy people's expectation on him.
The lyric in Perinba Pechukaaran breaks the sky and goes above than that. (Not exaggeration. 100% true. You will know once audio releases.) We have seen many songs in past which shower praises on Superstar but this Perinba will the jewel in the crown for all songs. The song assures you something which you are craving for years. It tries to clear your doubts and attempts to answer critics. There's a line similar to "Superstaarar yaarunnu kaetta Chinna Kozhandhaiyum sollum" in this song."
Final verdict:
I could relate this experience similar to that of ours while we listened Muthu audio first when it hit the stores in 1995. That time, we were eagerly anticipating with bated breath for the audio since it was first film for Rahman and many were afraid about his performance. But what later happened is history of sorts. And Rahman captured a distinct position in audio world. Like that his nephew GV Prakash too is all set to capture the audio world. Surely Kuselan songs are gonnna to rock the state and universe with its impeccable outcome and style and freshness.
Three songs will be become instant hit and one will be sold hit and remaining two will become hit once the movie touches the screens and we see the picturisation.
Mark the above sentences. Ok?
Now some facts:
1) The album contains a total of 5 songs out of 3 is for Superstar, one is for Meena and Pasupathy and one is Nayantara solo.
2) The singers who found place in the album were Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Sujata, Chitra, Sadhna Sargam, Shreya Ghosal, Kailash Kher & Prasanna VV. (Yes. Our favourite SPB is missing!)
3) Apart from the above singers, Punjabi Pop King Daler Mehndi has sung a track song called ‘Oyam Zarere’
4) Superstar’s intro song Cinema Cinema is sung by Shankar Mahadevan.
5) GV Prakash has taken utmost care that one song doesn’t resemble another song in the album and applied different aspects for each songs.
6) The launch event will be held on June 30 evening and the CDs and cassettes will hit the stores by July 1.
7) Usually Rajini takes utmost care and involve himself in music composing for his movies. But for Kuselan, his intervention or directives was not there at any stage of music composing and GV Prakash was given a free hand. After recording, he listened completely all the songs and showered praises on GV Prakash. Later while meeting at him in shooting spot, he was awestruck by the wizard’s boyish appearance.
8) Initially GV Prakash composed several tunes for each song with tireless efforts where P Vasu assisted him in selecting final tune for each song. P Vasu gave some tips to suit Superstar and his fans. The tune composing was done at Hotel Palmgrove.
9) Big Music (Big FM) which purchased the music rights has planned to aggressively promote the music. A special fund has been allocated in the budget for this. (Soon you will see the impact). The company is very hopeful on the stupendous sales of the audio as all songs have been shaped out well and expected to become chartbusters.
10) Some shops in
11) In Tamil music history and Superstar’s movie account, Kuselan is top most record holder in audio rights sale (2.25 crores). A few has been telling that Dasavatharam was sold for 2 crores. It is not true. Reports say it was sold for 1.5 crores only. (Believing is up to you)
And Sivaji music rights was not sold to anybody as the audio was released by AVM itself thru AVM Music. But some say that the rights was sold to that company as inner-circle business by AVM for 1.5 crores. (But I think it will be more than that.)
