Nostalgia: When Superstar returned the money....

We all know that thalaivar returned crores of money to the distributors of his film Baba after its release. An old newspaper scanning which i have given below will throw more light on the topic. I know that some of you might have read this. But this is for those who missed time.

Admitting failure
He admitted that the movie didn't perform well and he's ready to renounce every name and fame he earned over 27 years if they were denied to him just because of this single movie's debacle. I bet you that only our Superstar has such guts to admit failure.

Accepting failure is the most courageous act of a man.

I have marked the important points in green for a better understanding. But read it completely. Many infos spilled in the news report.

Special pre-release shows held to get honest reviews...But..?
From the article, it was clear that Superstar held special shows to many persons who were from various walks of life. But nobody opened up their heart and spoke the truth and they failed to give their correct reviews of the film. From the article, it is clearly understood that the movie's budget was increased because of the hype get generated.

When the theatre owners getting the money back, those who tasted profits too joined the queue and received the money. But Superstar didn't mind that.

Note: For me, only a few movies, over the years have crossed or matched Baba's collection of Rs.25 crores. Bcos, Rajini's failure film collections = others' super hit collections.

Just tell me, after 2002 how many movies crossed Rs.25 crores collection? (Baba was produced at an approximate cost of Rs.6 crores)
